Since 1996
My last year in Steamboat I got 149 days on shredding. I know this because I keep a calander, yes compulsive. That was 1996. The next year I took an industry job away from the mountain town and was told by the Burton Rep and the Nitro Rep at the time that I will be happy to get 30 days that year. I called bullshit, told them that I wouldn't be like them and vowed to get half the days I did the previous year. And I did. Each year since then has been anywhere from 60 - 75 days a season depending on the snow, kids and my health. This year, for some reason (Milo) my day count was thru the roof, and finally broke the 100 day mark. Yesterday, at Hood. The boys and I went down Saturday to get August checked off, as I've never shredded all 12 months of the year (11 X 2) and trying to check that off the list. We have September to go and finally retire that little stupid goal. Anyway, plan was to shred Saturday, and make our way back to Sea Town on Sunday hitting skate spots along the way. The problem was, the hill was so freaking good, that all insisted we stay and make shred on Sunday. Dude tube, rails, boxes, jumps and mini biking were all there to be had, along with 70 degree sunny weather and snow that was epic. If you're sitting at your desk saying "man, shredding sounds fun right now" then book a cheap ass flight into Portland, get a car and go to Hood. It's pretty all time right now.
