7th Annual Oyster Fest

We got some "do gooder" friends in the soccer, school and swim team circle that throw a little hoe down every summer.  7 years ago, they won a raffle with a heap of sea food and instead of eating it all themselfs, they had a festival for all their friends, took donations and passed it on to a food charity of their choosing.  Well the dude that put up the seafood prize dug the idea, let them use his land on Sammish Island and told them that he would donate the food again next year if they continued to pay it forward.  Well, it took us 3 years of invites to pull our heads out of our asses and up we went on Saturday to Oyster Fest.
The schedule of events...didn't miss one of them.
Geoduck Ceviche
Over a doze of these went down the gullet, no tequila needed.
Sauce for the little necks.

Fried oysters, oh man.
Crabz
6PM tradition, kids fire themselfs off the pier.
Kayaks, canoes, and rafts were going with the kids all day.  Macs arms fell off on Sunday from all his rowing.
"Hey, can you drive home?  I'm a dozen beers deep!"
In the end there were 30-40 families that showed up, and they raised over $8G for Teen Feed organization.  Me...so much rich food, classic over-in-dulgence on my part and I spent the better part of yesterday playing solitare on the toilet.  Well worth it though.  Thanks Rick and Jen.

  2. That's a rad event. And scraping up some serious loot for charity as well. Good work by your circle of friends.

Sorry to hear about the child's arm, but let him know there is hope:
