Hoodwinked

This weekend we made our annual pilgramage to Mt. Hood. This time the Wiener joined us and oh boy was it on. We left at 2 on Friday and by 6:30pm after I had lived thru 30 "are we there yet Dad's?" the boys were ripping around Windells campus. Holy game stepper up from last year at Windells! The BMX jump section was so fucking next level, with lines for all abilities that my shoulder wasn't even twitching looking at it. But there was no room for dads toys as the scooters, skates, kids bikes and our gear took up all the room in the Bronco 2. Anyway, they removed the huge vert ramp in place of a air bag mega ramp and the basketball court was replaced with so much cement that Windells may be the finest place in the Northwest to skate period. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you have kids that shred and skate, there is no reason to spend a fuck load of money on some stupid ass Disney World / Land vacation where they eat cotton candy and hi 5 Micky. Take that cash and drop it at either Windells or HCSC and watch your kid come back a completely different better person. There is so much energy, like mindedness and just general raditude around these two summer camps that it's a game changer with kids. Shit, it's a game changer with adults in denial.
"Are we there yet Dad!?"
So we were lucky enough to be guests of both camps (thanks Tim Windell, thanks Preston Strout) and got to sample everything both camps offer. HCSC on snow shit is super on point for the little guys and myself with the mini bike snowboard jump lap park and the mini dude tube. Yesterday was a lapathon with the boys current shred hero, Scott Stevens. HCSC is SNOWOARD ONLY and the Wiener was skiing. Needless to say the vibes were out when he would roll in. But being Scotts tag along guest held some serious credibilty and people shut their mouths when they saw those two hangin.
Bro's...Scott, Mi and Mac.
Some serious shit went down in the foam pit this time. Scooter 7's and front flips from the Wiener.
Wiener was begging to take his ski's into the air bag. He got a veto on that one as I went into dad mode on that request. Some mtn bike dude sent a back flip off that thing like 50 feet in the air though. Insane.
Wiener mauled the concrete at Windells as they allow scooters on campus. Shit, they allow anything there. Bikes, mtn bikes, scooters, skates, rollerblades and even them swivel boards. A very inclusive enviorment Mr. Windell has there.
Milo loves this place. Building out back (Bob) has everything he needs. Tramps, street course, foam pit and big ass masonite dude tube.

And the scene every night around 11pm. They'd be up at 8, on the hill around 10, skating from 3 - 10pm then I'd throw em in the shower and shove some food down there throat and it would be lights out. Then I'd enjoy a on ice, cold ass, refreshingly relaxing Session.
Three days skating and scootering, 2 days on hill, multi peanut butter and jelly sando's, meeting all their pro heros, seeing the premier for Think Thanks Right Brain Left Brain premier, watching Nick Visconti destroy the skate park, snow park laps with Pete Saari killing back boards were only a few of the highlights from this 60 hour venture down south. It was so good that we already got a weekend in August planned...
