Going Green

You got all this bullshit marketing these days of all these companies ranting about going green. You think their really into it or is this the latest bandwagon for people to jump on and claim? I think the latter. When I think of keeping things green, I think of keeping the $ in the local circle. A good friend that runs an unsaid snowboard shop is doing his green part by not buying products from any snowboard company that is not shred owned. Meaning those companies that have golf, bike, coffee, croc pots or what ever, HE dropped. Funny too, because he backs the people and the product that these brands are putting out but he doesn’t feel good about where the money is going. Very noble indeed. So if you’re in the market for a new house in WA (who isn’t these days especially with how rad the rates are and how easy it is to get a loan) and want to feel green by keeping the $ in the shred community, look no further than Findourpad.com. Owned and operated by former pro shred Kris Swiez.

is there a list somewhere of who owns what?

There's a boardercompany what sells golfing too? Is that where all the plaid shit came from? I'm confused.

I heard awhile ago that Burton bought Alien Workshop. Burton was always tite to me because they were snowboarder-only (whatever that means--fucc a boarderhead though have you seen these guys?), and stayed away from skating or whatever... K2's local roots and Scot Schmidt KVC Comp-style history is taut, but rollerblades was unforgiveable... Mervs are tite, but pure up-they-own-asses in pure NW style, finsta have it both ways...if you know what I mean...

    Whatever.

I try and support the Mom'n'Pops whenever possible, but on my way out, holding my vegan organic locally-made hemp whatever, start strapping it down to my handmade in the USA commuter city bike, and promptly get run the F over by some knownot in a Monstergator on the way to Costco to buy a hundred buckets of some Chinese shit products...and I know I'm in the small minority. Does it matter? How many is it going to take? Can Obama help me? WTF?

ps sicc vid lookidat: fools putting it down on some of those hi speed boosters

good for that shop. too bad the kids don;t give a fuck. the standard "non hater" line is : if they make a good product who cares who owns them?

thats all well and good, but because most companies make quality products you have to start basing your decisions on other factors

I'm actually the reverso bizarro idiot, who sticks with the OG analog out of elitist tryhardness at the crux of the whole changeover, and then boom it all passes me by hyperstyle and I'm left in the teckmology dust, dialing up tube amp mail orders on my rotary phone... in my wool knickers and curly mustache... completely without irony, just stranded...

In the past couple years, I found myself rationalizing some cheapo Chinese purchases...and now I have a bunch of broken Chinese shit. And crushing guilt when I read about families heating their CAVES with RAW_COAL, twenty minutes outside of Beijing... Not entirely sure what it has to do with my MP3 player, but I know it's related...

  5. THAT shop is one of THE premier shops in the USA. Lots of peeps follow in their steps too. THEY dictate what's in their shop, thus sending the message to the kids of what they can buy to make them cool. Get it? It's small but a start. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but personally it's how I live my life. I hate mass market shit for the most part. Dining out, it would be local flavor, same with shopping. I'm going to the local shop to get "sold" something. I like that experience. But that's me, so who cares. But me.
