Griffs had a little time on his hands lately and has been scanning some oldies but goodies in the computer. Got these two bad boys from him today. It's from 1990 when he and I drove down to Breck for the World Championships of Snowboarding. Craig and Palm were in a battle royal for the crown. Craig was the tech wizard and the Palm was just hammered, but going HUGE. Simple straight HUGE AIR's and he took the title hands down. Griff and I were at the first hit and we actually made some magazines back then as back ground props. I had a orange Oakley headband on and was holding Griff by his belt as he was bent over trying to get the angle. Funny too that there was this 15 year old wonder kid there on a Micro Air that was killing it. I think his name was Terje.
A real photographer shot this one. Griff and I are a half an inch off the photo!
Craig going Euro Method. Must of been before the law was laid that US citizens couldn't grab Euro. But anyway, this shot is pretty incredi, even by the Dan Stan standard. Ya know!!!???
Griff photo of same hit. Palm killing it. Again, Euro method. Unforgivable by todays standards but incredi shredi back then. Shit, it's still incredi cause you know he ain't running any of them beat ass power plates.
dude nobody had stances wider than 17 inches, it was harder to get inbetween them shits I swear
ReplyDeletethat's my excuse, at least...
sicc pics
I do know!!, I went to the 88/89 worlds in Breck to see Brush ride, it was pretty incredi
ReplyDeleteCraig gets a pass on his methods anyday! His euro methods still outdo most pro methods of today! They are timeless!
ReplyDeleteThings were just better then.
