I've been blowing it with Youtube for the past few years, and now I got a stock of movies on there that are not only shitty filming and editing but shitty quality. The quality of the vid on Vimeo kills anything the Tube has to offer and I'm gonna make the switch. Sucks too cause it looks like Utoob just got their shit together as loading was super easy today, but compare yourself:

No doubt, thanks Josh. Used my wifes SD1000 today that has 7.1 pixels. So in movie mode it's shooting that many pixels then when you got it on max?

ReplyDeleteI'm new to the whole youtube/vimeo thing, but you are aware of the fact that youtube just started to broadcast in HD? Your upload has to be high resolution for it to work, but it does work. Check http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Watch_Higher_Quality_YouTube_Videos on how to embed in high quality. That video of yours does look a lot better this way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UILAtGm7frA&fmt=18 (That &fmt=18 is where the magic is, if the original file were 720p change it to &fmt=22 to watch in glorious High Definition)
