Opening Day at Baker 11/29/07

Up at 4AM in anticipation for the 5AM alarm. The plan is to leave the house at 5:30 for the 2.5 hour drive to Baker. J-Rad "Montgomery's" me and shows up at 5:48AM. We arrive at the Alderwood Mall parking lot and find Sweaty scraping the wax of his deck at 6:10. Not bad, we're really only 10 min off schedule.

Arrive at the mountain by 8:30. Got tickets like it was no ones business then jumped in this monster of a line. Good hippie vibes going all around. "Awww man, this is gonna be eppy bro!"
















Right off chair 6, hiked up a bit, looked down a little funnel and found this sweet spot for ourselves. Like 3 runs in a row too. J-Rad in the white room.
















Parking lot was full but besides the opening lift ride we never waited in a line once. 44" of opening day base, a solid footy of pow. Super light too.





















After a good day on the hill, and two celebratory beers worth of conversation we were shocked not to see to many costumes on the hill. The appearance of bandanna's, leg bags, wacky stripes, hot dog backed beanies were at an all time minimum. That is till we started walking back to the truck and we witnessed this horror show. The dude had his back to us at first glance. Then we he heard the outright heckling at his Halloween Costume a month late he turned around and it was none other than Dan the Man from Casual Industries.

All said and done, another incredible opener in the books. But as you can see, it's Saturday and there ain't shit for mountains open round these parts in WA, so a work day is in order. Enjoy.
