Hmmm, sometimes all things aren’t as they seem. A while back I lost a bet to a buddy about sales number that I thought one of our reps would not meet. This cost me quite a bit as the loss meant that I paid for a helicopter for 4 people for a whole day. One day for some reason I decided NOT to take someone’s word that the numbers were the numbers and not to my surprise, I was right on my inkling. What was initially claimed was that the amount was surpassed by a measly $3000. Ouch, so close but yet so far. Then upon further investigation I find out that the win was by a mere $6000, in my favor. After a bit of bickering, and having to prove my point, this letter along with this check came into my possession. As they say at the country club, “winner winner chicken dinner.” Dear Bob,
A bets a bet and after my audit with the numbers, they clearly showed that you did not win. Jason confirmed it with me on Monday, the only question he brought up on my audit of the account list was so and so whose total of $1470 doesn’t make a difference to the total which is still below the agreed upon dollar total. So now the balance of the bet is due. Please make a check out for $2,249.78 to myself as soon as possible to cover your past due from April. I will not be charging you interest on this amount, by the way. Also let me know how you plan to announce to the company that you jumped the gun at the Company Christmas dinner by claiming victory and that you were incorrect and in fact did not win the bet. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
And thank you for day on the helicopter. It was incredible.
