Man oh man, I love Internet stores with “live chats.” The Goat had a breaking news story about Croc’s buying this company Bite Footwear. It just so happens they had a live chat and I got to test my communication skills with a Ms. Angela Dittmer:

jay: I'm looking at your shoes and wondering what style would work best for surfing?
Angela Dittmer: Are you looking for a shoe or a sandal?
jay: You tell me. They look like they expel water really good.
jay: My toes get cold too. So I'd want some that kept them warm.
Angela Dittmer: Well all of our sandals are a full grain leather or swade so you would not want to completely submurge them in water. We do have a shoe called the Primal which you can view here, http://www.biteshoes.com/orthosport/styles/4023a.htm. That has a mesh and drainage holes that allow the water to flow through the shoes.
jay: Swade? What's that? Is it like leather?
Angela Dittmer: Yes Swade is a leather
jay: Yea that style looks cool. How do you think it will be swimming around in the ocean?
Angela Dittmer: They have a pully system instead of laces so that probably would work okay.
jay: Cool. Again, what type of material is swade?
Angela Dittmer: Swede is a leather
jay: Hmmmm, never heard of it.
Angela Dittmer: Its more of a soft leather
jay: Cool, thanks for the help. Do you guys make any car driving shoes?
Angela Dittmer: No we do not.
jay: I watch a lot of nascar and wondered if you made anything that had a good pedal response.
Angela Dittmer: No we do not. All of our sandals and shoes are all for outdoor activities

jay: Do you have wings?
Angela Dittmer: Thank you.
Angela Dittmer: That would be nice if I did.
jay: Yea, then you could fly over here and we could have lunch and talk about designing a nascar shoe.
Angela Dittmer: Yes we deffentely could.
Angela Dittmer: I can pass on the information about a driving shoe for you.
jay: That would be cool. What shoes do you rock?
Angela Dittmer: Im actually wear our Spirit womens flip flops about every day.
jay: Wicked. Do they make Bites with heels for going out at night and getting rowdy?
Angela Dittmer: No but I have always suggested it.
jay: How sick would that be to have a pair with clear heels?
Angela Dittmer: We aim more towards shoes and sandals that are healthy for your feet and unfortunately heels are not that good for women's feet,
Angela Dittmer: I would love it.
jay: Yea but young hot chicks are always wearing heels. How do you explain that?
Angela Dittmer: Yes we do wear heels a lot. I hear all the time how unhealthy they are for my feet. And unforutnately it is true. Especially with the ones with pointed toes. They do not allow the toes to spread naturally when you walk.
jay: Toe spread is a worldwide problem these days.
Angela Dittmer: Yes it is. That is why all of our styles have a nice wide toe box
jay: Wide boxes are bad though. You move all around in a wide box.
Angela Dittmer: Well the rest of the shoe is not always wide. It is just the toe box so it will allow your toes to spread naturally when you step down, rather then cramming them together from a narrow toe box.
jay: Got ya. Cramming things into a narrow box sounds painful.
Angela Dittmer: It can be. It can also cause a lot of foot issues later on in life.
jay: Like them asian chicks that bind their feet?
Angela Dittmer: Yes thats terrible for your feet
Angela Dittmer: Is there anything else that I may help you with today?
jay: Hey how do you make a disc golf shoe? What's so disc glof about it?
Angela Dittmer: Disc Golf is a sport that is played simalar to golf but instead of a club and a ball they use a frisbee like disc.
jay: I get that. But HOW is the shoe made to be disc golf specific?
Angela Dittmer: The sole is made to help with traction and there is extra rubber on the toe and in a few other areas to help prevent "blow outs" of the material, Which a lot of disc golfers experiance.
jay: I get blow outs a lot, especially after having the 49cent monday night wings at the WIngdome. You ever been there?
Angela Dittmer: No I have not.
